Cooked pears
4 servings
4 large, firm pears
1 fresh ginger
5 dl sugar
5 dl water
1 lime
Peel the pears but save the stems.
Finely grate ginger. Heat sugar, water and ginger, bring to a boil and then simmer for 15 minutes. Carefully grate the peel off the lime and juice lime into a bowl. Place the pears in the sugar mixture together with lime juice and grated lime peel. Cover with paper so that the pears do not float to the top. Simmer until pears are soft.
The pears can be served with many things. We suggest ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
